I'm wondering if the $600/pair 35 spline outers at www.wagonermachine.com will work on the new Ford Ball joint 60's (with the unitized bearing setup)?
Is there a cheaper Ford 35 spline outer I could use?
Thanks!
not sure on pricing but currie told me he was doing them as well.

"super heavy duty ford dana 60 shafts"
fell on that when doing a GOOGLE (http://www.google.com/search?q=dana+axle+60+outer&btnG=Google+Search) search looking for info for my dodge front 60

$600 seems a little steep. KEep an eye out on ebay, I've recently seen some floating around at about $200/ set.

What's the deal I thought ford 35 spline outers were chevy 35 spline outers that had 1/4 inch removed with a chop saw? Thats $80 for a new outer and $.75 for chop saw blade wear. What is wrong with that?

Maybe, but I believe(surely someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that you can get the Ford 35 spline outers new from a D70 front.

I heard that also, and since Currie uses the same FORD stuff, that may be my best approach.

I have a email out to Randall. Thanks!

Please tell more! are you refering to Currie?

Thanks, The 99'FORD D60 outers are something like 3" shorter than the GM D70 outers. Might work on the Ford D60's without the UNITIZED bearing though.

Nope, not currie... don't know if they're supposed to be public knowledge yet or not though, so I'm not gonna say where they're coming from. But they're being made for Fords, not a GM stub cut & re-splined like everyone else seems to be doing

I think it was Summers Bros that had a D60 stub at the off road show. They cut the 30 spline shaft off and broached the center of the yoke. Press in a 35 spline shaft, and a tack weld. Might be a good way to go???

I have these on my ford,I have broken the welds a couple of times.Might try 70 outers as spares, since they are $80 each instead of $300.:) :)
