im going to cut down a FF 60, was wondering just what the differences are between manufacturers(dodge,ford are most common around here) can anyone post widths as well, wms-wms?

if you plan to keep it a full floater then why not use a cab and chassis dually 14bolt? they are only like 62-63" wide and no narrowing needed. i have heard and seen that you can convert the lug pattern on the 14bolts to 6lug and 5on5 1/2 if that is the pattern you plan to run ( left mine 8lug). detroits are cheap and it is a cheap way to get into a beefy rear that is narrower than you standard full width axles. if you are interested do a search. they have been disscussed quite a bit in the past. :D

couldnt find anything im lookin for. im just curious which axle would be better, a dodge or ford. the only differences i see are slight, mainly in the hub shape and flange configuration. id also like to know if any years suffered from small bearings, breaks etc.
