I've just purchased a 79 Traveller (345) and plan to use it as a daily driver, light trail rig and to tow my Yeep (flat towing for the time being and maybe a trailer later).

Is a Class III hitch what I need?

Sounds like what you need to me.

http://www.SuperScoutSpecialists.com carries hitches just for the SII.. or you can find your local Uhaul and try out a universal one.
