This question isn't cruiser related for me but could be for others. I picked up the weber 32/36 carb for my chevy 6 cylinder 194 engine. I got the adapter from clifford performance. Well it is kind of a piece of shit. You have to drill your own holes and looking at there location they will be like half moons. Anyway what im thinking of doing is milling down the top of the manifold until its flat. If there is enough material I could simply put the carb pattern there, cut and mount. If there isn't Id have to weld on say a 1/4 or 3/8 piece of ? thats where my question comes in. Im assuming Ill be on the verge of screwing up the manifold all together as there probably isn't that much material. Im not sure what material to weld to it (hopefully mild steel as I believe the manifold is cast) and how to weld to it. Can i use a mig or should I have it tigged. Any ideas?

I really don't know where else to ask this question.
