I scrambled my pinion bearing on my cruiser. Pulled the cover off (for the first time) to see a locker I've never seen before. Somebody told me it might be an Auburn. Its got maybe 10 springs cross the carrier. Looks more like a limited slip kinda deal.
I'll clean it up and try and get a pic posted.

With that detailed description , I'd say it's an Auburn LSD.

definately a LSD
pick up a "four wheeler" magazine and most of them have pictures with the add's. Compare then to identify.

It was rear.
I was told that nobody made a limited slip for a c-clip diff?
They were obviously WRONG.
I did a search and found a pic of one.

What? No LSD rear? I have an Auburn in my rear, soon to be replaced by a Detroit. My dad's Cruiser has a GM 12-bolt LSD in his FJ40, I guess it was put in way back when nobody made stuff for Cruisers.

someone done lied to you I had two Eaton lsd's in a 55 I bought a few years ago. They are the same units.
the reason I ask Front or rear is that I was going to sugest putting the LSD in the front (easier on the birfs than a locker) and welding up the dif that was in the front and puting it in the rear. Other than having to score a thrust block for the rear, you would have cheap, instant traction!

cool. I personanly feal that you cannot beat a locker in the rear, even if its just welded up. it will be night and day.
I know opinions are like assholes but I would say sence you allready have a LSD in the front, dont bother rebuilding it, sell the rear third, pick up a stock third (if you dont allready have one)and wwwwweld it up!
you may even come up a few bucks on the deal

hahaha - yeah.
I had the rear welded in my 85 Toy P/U and it was the best thing I ever did.
The chance of me coming out ahead on anything to do with my truck is nill.

Could be an Alburn or maybe an old Super-brut posi. Both are very limited. Go with a locker
