Ok I installed photoshop on my computer and when ever I click on a image it opens photoshop instead of IE. i tried changing it in the file options menu but i cant find any of the extentions in there. and if i try to make a new on it says its already taken. any help? Thanks.

Open up a folder.

Go to the menu and click tools.

Click folder options.

Click the file types tab.

Look for the extension you're trying to change.

click it once and hit change.

Pick the program you want to open it.


All the above is XP, it's been a while since I was on other OS's, but it's basically the same.

you can also use"winfile"

go to run: type Winfile

go to file/associate and the associat ethe type file with the type program



edit: this does nto work in XP

select the file you want to open. hold down shift and right click. Choose 'Open With'. Select I.E. and check the box.
