I got a 2 1967 Dana 44 and they are both 30 spline but the book says it should be 19 I counted 30 little ridges so it must be a 30 spline it's a rear axel with the factory power lock

That depends on what the application is. Not every manufacturer switched versions because Dana had a new one. The auto mans. also used up existing stock of old versions before new ones were adapted. So your 44s are out of what?
