Time to finally get a good dig camera. I'm leaning towards one of the digital cam corders for the ability to do vid clips with sound. Any recomendations? What do ya'all use? Models. prices, features etc...?

I have the kodak 4330, I got it because michelle did a bunch of research on which one was best and then bought it for me for my birthday. I really like it, it does video with sound, not the highest quality but its made for still pics. Has internal memory but can also take a memory card, It takes very good pictures, and Its an all around good camera and the price wasnt that bad. I highly recomend it

Olympus D-520 Zoom. The number one reason, believe me because I researched it and tested every other camera in the store, is because the Olympus brand digi cams have the BEST response time when clicking the button to take the pic. There is a slight delay in taking pics with digi cams. Some cameras, like the Canon, have a longer delay than the Olympus. So, if you're taking action shots, the Olympus is the best.

Olympus C2100-UZ. I got it because I am mostly into still images, and 2.1MP was enough, and still is, for what I do. I can print an 8x10 that looks as good as film to my eye from this camera. The 10x Optical zoom w/ Image Stabilizer was also a big deal for me. I love that feature. I can zoom to 10x and take a blur free shot without a tripod. I get killer shots I otherwise would not be able to.

I don't do video really. I find home movies boring as all fawk to watch, so I don't want to inflict mine on anyone else. I think that if people would edit them, they would be fine to watch, but 90% of the time they show everyone raw footage. My digicam can do movie clips as well, most of them can, and they are alright. I don't use them much though.

Cheap takes floppy discs good enough for sending pics in e-mail and not to big of a deal if it gets messed up.

Depending on what you are going to take pics of and what you plan on doing with the pics makes all the difference in the world.

I just save mine to disc and archive that way if you want to get them printed you will want something nicer.

I can get 32 pics on a disc and no special cords or disc to deal with.
