I'v looked though the search and could not find anthing about my needed tech info..

I have a 89 wrangler Yj with a 2.5/ x5 and i beleive a n231 transfer case. The motor is warn out with 185mi.

I have a dodge truck 2wd with a good 318 and auto trans.
I wanted to put a chevy 350 with a 350 trans in it but I can get this dodge for cheap. Installing it is no problem.

Th Question I have is will the dodge Tranny bolt right up to my transfer case, or will i have to buy an adaptor? I have heard the dodge trannys are the same bolt pattens as jeep because they are both dodge corp built. I'm want to find out if it will or not.
If it won't im going to stick with the chevy 350 and 350 tranny.
The adaptor is 500.00 from advanced adaptor and Im trying to
save a little for other parts I needed.

the if its a RWD transmission, the tailshaft will not be right. and its part of the housing, so thats pretty much that. a 2wd auto tranny wont be able to bolt to a transfer case of any kind. and if you can get an adapter (of sorts) it would be too long for a jeep.

than again i could be wrong, guys?

The engine will fit (Several other have put 5.2's from cherokees--same engine--into their rigs) I'm not sure about the tranny specs. I know that the 46rh that came with my 5.2 was a 4wd model and 23 spline output...a 23 spline 231 should have bolted right up..with maybe a clocking ring as the only other item needed.
