anyone used on of the bike haulers that are a reciever hitch slide in mount?
My bikes are both pretty small (100cc and 250cc vintage 2-strokes- both sub 300lbs.) but will not fit in the 4runner.
I want to avoid the cost and hassle of a full on trailer, and these seem like a reasonable alternative.
Anyone use them>
Where is the best price?
Thanks

a friend of mine got the on that has a bottle jack built into it. it's sweet. roll the bike to it and jack it up. put in the lock out pins and through two tiedowns on to keep the wiggling down. also workls well for a bike stand for changing tires and such. i can't remember the name right now. but they are in the mags as well.

Pretty cool, but does not look like it would work on a metal tank vintage bike, the tank would hit that bracing arm. Plus the standover height is a joke, so I am not sure about the lower mount, either. Cool idea, though.

I've made a few haulers and the most imporant part is to have somthing to stop it from rocking!! ........
The moto jack system works pretty good to stop the rack from rocking, with the bolts tightened against the reciver
http://www.joeracerproducts.com/ is another place that makes them, the 2 bike carrier is kinda scarry though

I was looking at those also for my 4Runner to haul my F4 (372lbs). After weighing all the pro's and cons, stability, size etc I decided to go with a 4x6 folding\tilting utility trailer. Same price and when folded pretty much occupys the same space as the hitch mount. Also I feel much better hauling my bike knowing that I can crank down the straps on 4 corners and not have to worry about the hitch mount breaking off or weakening over time from bouncing on rough roads etc.

I ment to also say that I've seen a few that were made with three recivers (one in the middle and a 2.5" reciver welded on each end of the "bumper" that were SUPER stable, but it would only work on that truck..........
