: Wheres the zuk??
Rudezuk 12-03-2001, 09:52 AM So what did you web wheelers do this weekend??
We busted through the snow to Bassie Falls!! Tons of rigs were coming out of the trail as we were going in, saying "Its Un-passable!"
But here we are!
Rudezuk 12-03-2001, 09:58 AM Another pic
Azrckcrawler 12-03-2001, 10:03 AM What the hell is that white stuff? :D Looks like fun. Myself a couple of the local Zukers and a bunch of Toyotas spent yesterday on the Lost World trail. We made it to the end of the downstream portion(wash is fenced off). Mark from Kong's broke a birfield as we headed back upstream to play on the waterfalls. I got some great pictures, gotta sort thru them and update my webpage.

Thanks! Yeah i love the paint, it really makes the rig..
Yeah it is only a trail rig, but i do drive it about 80 miles to the trail! So i get some crazy looks on the highway...
This is a trail that is about 30 minutes below the Rubicon, You cant reach the rubicon in the snow, so people go here instead.
Azrckcrawler 12-03-2001, 10:55 AM I think I got some sunburn yesterday....................

Never tried this line before so I tied a line to my cage just in case the back end came up.

For some reason the Baja Claws worked better on this line. Everyone else who tried to go high couldn't get the tires to hook up and ended up swinging the back end towards the cliff.

When I get home I'll be posting more to my page.

I could see 35's within the next year so instead of buying a winch I saved the money and started to plot my axle upgrade options. Breaking my front axle on this same trail sealed the deal. I ended up going with the Toyota axles. I saw some at the ARCA competition two years ago on a Zuk and it looked like a good match. Since then a lot of others had done the swap so it was a no brainer. I moved to Arizona to get away from that white stuff, lived in Alaska for nearly 15 years. I am definately going to Moab next spring.

Yup, they are on 3.75" BS rims. I ordered 3" BS and Discount botched the order. I now wish I would have gotten 2" BS, I thought 2" would have been too wide (to fit on my trailer). I asked for some wheel spacers for X-mas.
Thanks for inviting us along! We need to go back out and explore
the upper half. Even the trail up there was fun. Those little zuks rock! I'd be tempted to build one myself if I could fiure out how to stuff my Dual case toyota driveline in one.
Larry.

Larry, I am going to go out again after X-mas, sometime during the week since I have 9 days off. I'll let you guys know. And there are a couple guys here running Toy drivetrain in their Zuks, I guess you want it for a smaller, lighter chasis? Climbing is definately a lot more exciting :D
bobaki 12-03-2001, 06:44 PM Shanesan that paint job looks great in the snow.Hows that 6to one doing?......:D

The boggers are awesome!!!!!
I had to pull my room mates jeep and the 4 runner out of many spots!! I got stuck one time, when my front diff found a huge rock in a snow drift.....but that was it!
And the sammi just kept going and going.....It was like i was driving a snow mobile!!
I could cruise around any where from first gear just kreeping through the snow, to driving in 4th and 5th gear baja style!
RawkPunx4x4 12-04-2001, 11:06 AM tried to get to bassie on saturday with your buddy robert and his tacoma. did not make it but had fun anyway, put dent in door. sunday went to iron mountain with 10 other rigs and had another fun day in the snow.

Yeah he told me you guys went up there.....He said you guys could get past the first hill....???
I think the boggers are the key for the snow!!!

I know how you feel. If I could find a cheap Zuk around here (and the Toyota wasn't my D.D.) I'd be tempted to buy a zuk and drop my whole drivetrain into it. Then stretch the wheelbase to 100-110 inches and go. You'd get a narrow samurai vehicle that's as stable on hillclimbs as a Toyota, and you could cram dual toy cases into it with a WB stretch easy, too.
I still think that's one of the cheapest ways to build a kikc-ass trail rig. And a Sammy would probably HAUL with a 22RE in it.
Hmmm... I think I just convinced myself. ;)
