To get the ends off to get the caster rite what is the best way to cut/grind. Also are there any good links showing cutting and a chart for axel lengths inner and outers?

Grind all the weld off with an angle grinder, then press them off.

It's easy.

Yeah warn has a chart with some of the popular axle lengths.

Shouldn't you be working?

When I did mine this is what I did.

Used a 4in grinder with a cutting blade
started cutting into the centre of the weld and cut in at an angle all the way around at about 25 to 30 degrees and I probably went in about 3/8in.

When you get deep enough you should see a hairline crack appearing, this is the hardest part to find the hairline crack. When you have done one before it is real easy but I would suggest to just cut in at the 24-30 deg (dont cut in at 45 the, cut will go into the axle tube too much and you wont find the crack) for about 3/8 in all the way around and if you carnt see a crack then......

If you cut all the way around and carnt finds the crack (and if you can find if then do this anyway) then just an oxy torch and heat the knuckle on both sides (the thin part) till its glowing red hot (juct untill it just starts glowing) and then get a f.n big hammer and see if you can move the knuckle. give it a real good floggin and then have a look to see if you can see the crack again (if you couldnt before) and then grind some more if necessary (and a bit more heating and floggin ) till the crack goes all the way around.

Once the crack goes all the way around you can just heat the sides of the knuckle and rotate the knuckle around with a big sledge hammer (you need a really big one and hit it as hard as you can) and then weld it back on.

My first side took me about 3 hours (cause I didnt know what I was doing) And the second side took about 45 min.

Good Luck

i think it is a piece of tungsten with a bunch of electrons flowing through it and a compressed air nozzle to blow the molten metal away
