Im in the process of a SOA w stock yj springs, its sitting on the axles now and the springs seem way to soft and id like a couple of more inches in lift ,,searched on the waggy springs and have 3 questions i couldnt answer
1) We are talking FSJ waggy correct ?
2)will the waggy springs fit my 83 CJ7 rear without relocating the hangers (if so itll fit my front ,those i moved for the yj springs)
3) will it affect wheelbase at all
was pondering useing waggys in front and rear

I'm surprised nobody else has sais anything but I'm sure they'll chime in to correct me. BTW I haven't done this swap myself, and I'm sure it's written down somewhere so I'll go off memory.
FSJ Waggy springs are ~2" longer than YJ springs and have ~2" more arch (44044s are lift springs for waggys so they are ~4.5" above the YJ spring). The center pin is also centered on YJ springs and offset 2" on the Waggys, so one side is the same length as a YJ spring, one side is 2" longer.
So if you're setup for YJ springs in front and have a factory shackle location, you can use it to keep the axle in the same position of to stretch your wheel base 2" (Reversed shackle means no increase or a 2" decrease). Note that your shackle angle will change drastically and you may need to replace them (also depends on how much shackle angle you're comfortable with
:D ).
On the rear somebody's got to know the actual measurements but CJ rear leafs are the same width as SJ/YJs but are the shortest of the three - I'm fairly certain you can still swap CJ springs out for YJ or SJ without major mods (again may need some anti-kickback shackles).
YJ leafs - 45" eye-to-eye, 22.5", 22.5" to center pin
SJ leafs - 47" eye-to-eye, 22.5", 24.5" to center pin.
And I don't know the length of a CJ rear spring

FSJ rear springs are LONG. Go to www.ifsja.org and they can clarify things for you quickly.

Oh yeah, probably should have specifed that the waggy springs people usually swap into SWB jeeps (front or rear) are the fronts.

Several different types of Waggy springs out there, so be wary. springs are 2.5" wide typically. The seven leaf front versions are mostly what folks are talking about. Lots of flex, good and cheap. I have two pair, for front and rear on my rig. These are not the same as 44044's, BTW. JC whitney also sells some, but they have a different leaf count and have military wrap, I believe.
There is an offset, as mentioned above. Don't know what you are running now, nor much about OEM CJ springs, sorry. Don't know the dim #'s on waggy springs, but the earlier post has some.
Hope that helps -

1) Yes, front FSJ spring are used on front & rear
2) As stated - they are 2" longer, so your shackles may be at too much of a angle. Longer shackles will help some. Better to move the shackle hanger.
3) If you put the short end on the solid mount, it will not move the axle.
