Just a stupid question but will a 35 spline dana 70 powr-lok work for a 35 spline Dana 60 front?

No. Bigger ring gear pilot and bolt circle on the 70 carrier. However, most of the internals are interchangeable between a 60 and a 70 Powr-Lok.
