Talk about Rock and Roll:rolleyes: It should be "chock and dont roll". It must have been a pretty decent slope, huh? Glad you and Jen are OK. Prolly somewhat sore.

What are cruiser friends for. Good thing Reddog and his wife Kim were home or Jen and I would have had to learn how to use a drill press. That could have gotten scarrrrry. Thanks for the hospitality and us of your tools in the middle of the night. :)

i'm just glad that i was able to do my tiny part in the rescue (am i kissing my own ass here or what, cause all i did was make a few phone calls)
gary organized the rescue and reddog and bkcruiser did all the work, along with their cruiserhead wives. hat's off to you guys once again!
but i'm really glad that nick and jen made it out of there ok, and that i'm fortunate enough to be a rock dog, cause they will help you out and go way out of their way doing it no matter what!

no fix that hooptie, nick!:flipoff2:

allright the short version: this is taking place in the sierras.
took my beater 80 out for some wheeling fun. had a good time playing at deer valley and slick rock. wanted to find a trail that connected hwy 88 to hwy 50. did first 2 trails no problems. went and found the new trail and started up. bang! something in the drivetrain let go. i start checking front, jen starts checking the rear. we find one of the teeth from the ring gear sticking out of the rear cover. ok, i can fix that. jen starts pulling rear cover, i start dropping drive shaft. get the bolts out and yank down to remove shaft. when the shaft comes free the truck starts to roll backwards quickly. somehow i drop the shaft and grab the front control arm as the truck starts to roll over my upper thigh. jen somehow turns vertical with the truck and goes under the rear axle. i let go and the truck runs over my leg and starts to head for the ditch and runs over jen's leg aswell. truck rolls down road, into a ravine were it makes a 90 degree turn cutting back across trail on 2 wheels and somehow does not go over and comes to rest in another little ravine. shit is everywhere now cause all the doors were open and we are sitting in the middle of the trail with our truck about an 1/8 of mile away. luckily she is trained in wilderness first aid and rescue. we sit there for about 30 min. checking all our limbs, and figure were not in need of immediate medical attention. lots of bruises, cuts, scratches etc.

i won't bore the list with the details of the fix.

this is the second time that members of the nor-cal rockdogs have come to my rescue. i've wheeled with several of the members in the past and can truly say they are a great group! wheel with them if you get the chance. i'll also say it again, thanks mudark for making the right calls for me. oh yeah, how could i forget georg, thank you.

gary is the one to thank, along with don and bill and their wives, all i did was make a couple of phone calls.
i'm just glad i was able to do my little part.

speaking of little parts; a friend of mine's older brother was executed last night; he's been an under cover drug enforcement agent for 20 years and somebody figured it out. pretty much blew his head off.  just goes to show that some days you're the windshield, some days you're the bug.
