: 1 peice front axle conversion on a YJ

Has anyone done this without swapping the whole axle? Basically I don't like having the disconnect axle setup in the front of my YJ and wanted to swap to a one peice setup. I've thought about getting shafts from a XJ (297's) to get rid of the disconnect.

I've thought about going to a XJ 30 in the front, but then I'd have to grind off all those brackets and weld on new ones. Then to regear, ect., ect., I have to be able to do this a cheap way.

Only thing is I'm not sure where I could put an axle seal on the right side. I just had to replace the axle seal on that side (PITA), and was wondering if a matching seal to the left would fit in the diff, instead of the tube.

Wheeling on a budget.....if anyone has any suggestions??
