Ok.. this is a question for the guys and girls...

My wife and I are going to have out last baby on the 25th (unless she goes into labor sooner!) We are done 100% You see this is our 4th child .. ;) We have 3 boys and just had to give it one last try for a daughter.. Yep, we did.. :)

Sooooo... I am like deathly afraid to be nutered  But my wife is reluctant to have her tubes tied (for good reason).. So what say ya?? What side effects follow each "method" I am sure we are done that is for sure.. and the old "glove or pill" method sucks..

oh yea.. does it hurt?? The idea makes the boys run and hide..:D

Thanks ya all...

So don't get neutered, just get the tubes tied :p

Only once...
Does having that 5th rugrat show up unexpectedly hurt? :D If I knew that it was it, no more, fini, then I would do it. All surgery hurts, and yeah, it kind of sucks to be in pain voulentarily, but it's for the best in the long run. And, if times change, they can still harvest the buggers and make you a brand spanking new baby...just don't mind the 4 inch needle they'll stick in your sac for that

Git awn with it. Little to zero chance of any side effects from it. With wimmins there's a good chance of probs down the road. She's taken her licks pounding out four kids so stand up and take the hit. The freezing stings like a bastard but you've hurt yerself worse working on yer rig. Might be a couple days of discomfort. At the very worst stitches could get infected and leave ya sore for a week. No big frickin' deal. Trust me, got it done after #3 - found out that it didn't take - got it done again under a general so they could be more "thorough" after #4. If THAT hadn't taken I'd still go in again. She's done her time ;)

Oh yeah, good luck with the four of them man - it's a jeepers busy handful at times. Mine are from 17 to 12 right now and I figure I'll be lucky to live through it :D :flipoff2:

edit: as for the icepack - a bag of frozen peas, corn or whatever molds the best to the "affected" area works great. Oh, and a can of beer between yer legs works too - ya just have to drink them quick so they don't get warm :D

Suck it up & be a man. :flipoff2: Getting your wife's tubes tied is a big deal, getting snipped is a minor procedure.

Getting tubes tied is considered major surgery. Vasectomy is a outpatient procedure where your not even knocked out.

You make the decision

'For the men' is the simplest way. We have investigated this, and come to the conclusion that it's me that has to go forward, it's the safest of the two. Plus, I figure my wife has had the majority of the responsibility for BC, for once I can take the lead.

STEP UP MAN !!

And with any luck you won't shave ahead of time like they tell you to and some bad ass blonde honey will do it for you.

My wife never laughed so hard as when she saw her come and get me.

Fuck that, don't do it.

Non-surgical BC methods work just fine.

Are they perfect & foolproof?

No, but so what? Nothing is, not even what you are considering, and the regular methods do work very well, when used properly.

I don't think men OR women should have surgery to stop having babies. It's just ridiculous.

getting snipped is as mentioned an outpatient procedure. you will be fine.
the wife will have to have MAJOR abdominal surgury. any abdominal surgury in any one is a dangerous thing with a good chance for life long complications. i will never understand how a tubal ligation came to be an acceptable form of birth control.

They told you to shave? Interesting...for my hernia's they specifically said "don't shave, if you do we'll shave you anyway" :)

Uh uh, dead frickin' wrong.

First kid was a surprise while using birth control. Wanted 2 1/2 years between #1 and #2.
Did the math stopped BC and #2 is within two weeks of 2 1/2 years younger than #1.
Wife wanted me to wait a year before going in so continued with BC. #3 was conceived 9 months into that year.
Got snipped, didn't work, continued using BC.
#4 was conceived 9 months after #3 was born.

Shove yer frickin' stats up yo' A$$! :flipoff2:

Besides, getting fixed means no worries. No worries means fun times whenever and wherever the urge hits ya with no preparation needed. It lifts a big weight off yer shoulders ;)

Rob - whenever and wherever = wayyy more frequent :D

So far, we have proved to be VERY fertile :D:D:D

SO yeah - we have talked about me going under the knife.

Biggest drawback is that we *might* one day want to have more, so that means we plan to hold off on any permanent tactics for another few years, until at least we are both over 30, maybe closer to 35.

So to those who have had it done - does it FEEL any different afterwards?

Dave, Mrs. Mo and I know all about being very fertile...

Kid 1: diaphragm.
Kid 2: planned
Kid 3: condom

So much for birth control.

Mrs. Mo and I have discussed me getting fixed. Another relevant question that was brought up:

Any noticeable change in the spooge? Look, feel, and yes, taste?

Nope.

Just have to fire it off three to eight times after and go get a sperm count.

Had a friend who had his reversed, he missed two weeks of work and walked around like a ninety year old man for about a month.

Lee, go for it, it doesn't hurt a bit and you're back in the saddle a couple of days afterwards.

Mo no difference in the "spooge" You just dont have the little guys swimming around any more. I'm afraid you'll have to ask someone else about the taste bit though.

Correct, the swimmers are a TINY fraction of what actually gets produced. Look and feel are the same, I'd *assume* taste is the same, but I cannot be sure.

Dave, there is always the needle option if you decide to get, um, neutered and then feel that you REALLY need another brat running around :) AFAIK the swimmers are still manufactured, but not ejected, and therefore reabsorbed (which is completely natural and happens to us everyday anyway...)

SNIP!

Do ask around about UROLIGIST, I would not have a "general practice" doc do it, but someone who has had a few 1000 clips up under their belt! :)

If you normally wear boxers... DONT on the day of getting clipped. TIGHT briefs as they help with the support department.

Any different.... YES, better sex! :D

As the proud Father of four I can attest that it's possible to have children using BC....like 4 of them.

As for the snipping....I had it done three times. First didn't take (child #3) the secound time didn't take as well, but some reason I tested "safe" (child #4) after a retest I was apparently fully functional so it was done again a tad bit more agressivly *the Dr's words* So far so good after 8 years ;-)

It does not hurt that bad unless
1. you dig a electrical conduit ditch the day of the surgery (first try)
2. You take the 3 days off work to maxium advantage and go wheeling and end up spending 20 hours in a rough riding truck. (2nd try)
3. Spend a few days with a frozen bag of peas handy for when it gets to aching and then think your healed and go wheeling. Forget you aired up the swampers AFTER you chained the rig onto the trailer, get home and straddle the chain binder with a pipe and it slips.

As for the "other" questions... No differance except in my case a VERY infrequant ache if something gets a little out of adjustment that I never used to have. As for taste....she just smiled and said....thankfully some things never change.

My Husband got snipped three years ago, we went in at 1:30 and were eating at Red Lobster by 2:20 and went shopping at Home Depot. He had the single incision surgery done he said it was painless and he was alittle sore that night. The good thing is they want you to have sex or jack off 30 times in 30 days to get a sperm test. And we started that night. Good luck Shrei :D

See what one your insurance covers.

Insurance covered the wife having her tubes tied didn't cover me getting he snip. Hmmm $10 copay or what ever the big V costs.......

Also if we did change our minds and want another kid they can retieve a egg and it can be fertalized and the woman can still be artificialy impregnated so it's still your kid. I don't think you can do that with the V method.

I had the big V. I don't know if its in my mind or what, but the big " O" doesn't seem quite as intense. I used to cum so hard I had trouble breathing....not any more. It is still good (spontaity is way better) but not "mind numbing". It could just be me.

I slep through my "procedure". running emergencie calls for 24 hours straight makes you tired. Not that big of a deal really, I was sore for a couple days.
