I went to Checker's Auto Parts (http://www.partsamerica.com) website and set my vehicle as an '82 k10. Searched around for ubolts and came across a rancho front u-bolt lift kit.......part# rs705 for 2.5-4" lift. $32.99

I've been all over the net looking for ubolts for the chevy 44 in my toy. None of the local stores carry them. So my question is didn't the k10's come stock with the ubolts flipped?? The plates should work on my toy, right??

Has anybody used this kit. That's pretty cheap if it's ubolts and plates. That's still not a bad price even if it's just u-bolt. Rancho's (http://www.gorancho.com) site didn't have anything on there about it.

Only thing to really consider is spring width and axle tube size, what housing are you running? I made the mistake of using a U-Bolt that was a little too wide in the cup for the housing. The extra play ended up cracking the housing. That was a stock Toy rear end.

There are two kits (IIRC), the 705 and the 703.

The 705, like you found, is listed for the '78 and later trucks, normaly with a 10-bolt. However, it works for the HD D44's as well. 3" axle tube dia.

The 703 kit is listed for pre-'78, D44's. Same kit, but for 2-3/4" axle tubes. Measure your tubes and purchase apropreatly.


nice kits, 9/16" dia u-bolts, yellow-cad plated, with washers and nylock-nuts, and some cheasy aluminum shims.

No spring plates. If you find a source for the GM cast style for cheap, please let me know.

FYI - check for a spring shop local to you, you may be surprised how cheap custom U bolts in any shape or size you want can be ;)
