Okay,
I know its been somewhat discussed before. I know its bolt on...but that aside....the system looks pretty good. Good control, change COG at will and prevents high centers.

Who is running AiRock and is it as good as it sounds? (I can save some $$ now, its on sale).

try searching over on JU, i know there is atleast one guy there running it, that wrote a fairly large writeup about it and has made some comments on how it has performed.

PM BensonMN, I think he has seen the junk in action, and knows a dealer.

IIRC, you might want to try www.mn-jeep.com and see what they know. maybe jeepboyben knows more:confused:

One of the guys in my club just installed one, will get to see it in action on Friday. Tristan at mn-jeep.com is one of the guys who works at ORO. Been to their shop in Prior lake, nice place.

I'll be curious to see how it works, looks like an awful lot of potential failure points to me.

Get a hold of Tristan at MN-Jeep.com, or call ORO directly. He works for ORO and has the system on His TJ. He can answer any question You may have. I've seen His rig in action a few times and it works really well! I was very skeptical at first but I think there system has proven itself.

Yeah, that's a concern. But then I was thinkin' that our local garbage company runs bags and they don't seem to ever have a problem!?!?!?

diffrent quality and size airbags :flipoff2: the system just has too much additional crap added to it. adjustability is nice but there is a point where it gets stupid and comprimises the whole thing.

otherwise airbags are a nice idea, variable rate/hight,little friction. hell i have a set of them in the garage i am thinking of using in a bit

You have my attention. What are you referring to?

I'm looking at the install .pdf and it seems like air lines controlled through a manifold....that doesn't seem complicated?!?!?

Well, I was searching and found this old thread. Is anyone out there using this system, and if so, how do they like it? I also wanted to ask what other airbags are there out there to use if I want to make my own system? I think I have decided to sell my 8" lifted XJ and start on my "new" 97 XJ. I think I would rather airbag this one because I have already decided to get rid of the leaf springs in the back and my other one is too hard to get in and out of daily. If you can, post some pics of the airbag systems you have made or are using. Thanks alot in advance

I know quite a few people with it. It works well, when the owners aren't fucking around with the automated BS.

I would really rather find out general info about airbags on lifted vehicles so I can make my own. Their kit isnt right for my XJ, so I would have to modify it anyway most likely. I would rather buy components and make it do exactly what I want it to do, not have a CPU telling me what it can do. I have the ability to plumb it and everything once I know what componentry to start with. This is a new area for me, so any info would be greatly appreciated.

Call Steve at ORO and ask him about your Cherokee. They have had one in their shop that I thought had the AiRock system in it. There are quite a few one off systems around that have been adapted to various vehicles and as far as I know Steve has been extremely helpful to anyone asking questions -even if you don't want to just bolt the TJ system into your rig. Give him a call and I bet you will be pleasantly suprised with the level of service you get.

Steve also will sell you just the components you need-- minus all of the TJ specific stuff-- if you are adapting it to another vehicle. If the system has a downside that I can see it is that it does not allow for wild, long travel articulation. But I could see someone mounting the bags further up the lower link to magnify the ultimate arc of travel. I can't tell you how impressed I am with this system from a design point of view. The only snag I have run into that I am currently working on is getting my speedo signal to activate the automatic function of the system that compensates for body roll and off camber situations. I would also like to see how this function affects antisquat while climbing since it lowers the front end and raises the rear. Actual numbers would be very interesting.

Steve left for Moab last night (like a lot of the other vendors and enthusiasts!) so you may have trouble getting him over the next 10 days. If you haven't talked to him yet I highly recommend it.

air rock it looks cool and functions well but, the whole controller unit and little sensors that go on the link arms well can we say mall crawlin chinz.... theres a shop near where i live that it installs a few kits a month and they pull up and start "flippin their switchs" like there cruisin with snoop dogg what happened to jeeps? the line between your local hoodlum s-10 with bags and your local rubicon owner with bags has quickly degenerated to a playstation controller on the dash....

EDIT:

they do have a bling factor too them though... i personally like the rigs with hydraulics tho! way cool they can PICK a tire @ will !
