I siped my MT/Rs (33") they quieted down noticeably. Did it with a utility knife (MTRs are fairly soft, so they're easy to cut with it)

I post pics but there's nothing to see. The cuts are only ~1/8" deep and so thin you can't see them unless you drag your finger over the tread block. I only did it to the center lugs

Jason Bunch did it to the Tri County Gear ARCA vehicle (this rig (http://www.off-road.com/rock/arca2001/jvalley/photos/DSC_0092.jpg) ) but it either doesn't show up in the pics, or he hadn't done it yet there.

I haven't had the Toy offroad yet to see how it help there... probably to busy to wheel it until the end of the month.

Ahhh yes the search function in use....... reviving an old thread....

found a few replys nothing more specific to cutting tread blocks off.... others were on siping...

So anyone done any creative cutting on thier MTRs ?

I looked at the tread and does anyone see a problem with cutting every other 4th block off/down, thats the smallest in the alternating pattern on the outside (black walls out)

thanks

two buddies have siped 37's and they chunked out really bad on the rocks, they are too soft imho for siping unless you are willing to replace every couple years,,,,they both have told me they would not do it again to them,,,
