u could go to a 6" rod set up (improves torque curve ) check into it;)

I remember GM Performance Parts used to sell a raw crank forging that could be machined for 4" stroke. I don't see it listed anymore, but they still carry the v6 blocks that are good up to 5.2L (320c.i.)

Here's a link for a stroker kit...

If I remember right, you need to use the GMPP block to do this and get some good power out of it.

I took a ride in a Class 1 buggy out in Nevada that had one in it. He was running around 550hp in it. Man that thing ripped!!!!!!

It is an expensive engine to do. More worth it to just do a 350 or bigger.

4.3L = 262c.i.

272c.i. ain't much of a stroker! :flipoff2:

A little more stroke goes a long ways...
speed-o-motive has all the info on the 4.3 stroker, Although I would not use speed-o-motive, If my life depended on it.....
Very poor customer service, piss poor return policy( eventhough it was there fault), Etc.

Also, a stock 4.3L is even fire, and as a result has split rod journals. This is a weaker design. The rod journals can be "shared" as with a basic V8, but this makes it an odd-fire engine... requiring a different camshaft and distributor. Long-stroke cranks are going to be odd-fire for simplicty of design and strength.

thanks for the input going to keep looking for some more info.

550hp sounds like it might be what I am looking for but might not be to streetable

Yeah, that 550hp one I was in was outrageous, but I don't think it was tuned for daily driving...

I think 300-350 might be more realistic. But for that, you might as well run a 350.

weight is what I dont want. It would be easer not having to move a lot of stuff to make it all fit eaither

and i think it would be cool to have a built-ass 4.3L :flipoff2:
