View Full Version : Trailside/Road carrier bearing repair

After Colorado 'Zu, I had the carrier bearing rubber part exit :mad: . Had to remove the rear driveshaft and "front drive" to Ace Hardware. Bought plumbing parts :confused:. And finished up parkside repairs, just in time for the icecream man to peddle by.

Wheeled 3 more days and made it and home 600 some miles, still looks good :p .

I guess its time for a one piece shaft.:D

Thats one sweet little trail repair, good idea.

:) Thanks .... best idea I could think of. Just a little more vibrations than before, not bad really. The bearing itself is still in very good condition. But AFAIK have to buy complete unit. That cost more than converting to one piece drivshaft ..... So yup, I guess its time for a one piece shaft :) .
