Make sure if you catch them they can't testify. Prison food suxs!
In Indiana we are permitted to own and carry concealed weapons (after proper background checks), but it is still much safer in the small towns and out in the country were everybody seems to have weapons. The thought of getting caught by a farmer, is deterrent enough!

Yeah, Placerville, like Nevada City, is experiencing the overflow from Sacramento and Roseville. Seems to be the choice location for Silicon Valley refuges as well. Between the folks puting up fencing on every sq. in. they own (there went a lot of nice trails) and the new big city rules and regulations they bring with 'em, the small town life of the foothills is no more.
Add 6,000 people to an area with a population of 4,000 and ya got trouble. More crime of the petty sort. More attitude. Less courtesy.
Of course, my neghbors said that 15 years ago when I first moved up here too.....:smokin:

The irony is that Placerville is one of the few places in America where anyone would bother to steal a knuckle off an old Land Cruiser.
I live in Oakland, and I think a Land Cruiser steering knuckle is pretty safe here.
A stereo or a whole car might not be, however.
