How many of you tow your rig to the trails? I'm tired of smogging my sh!t every 2 years. so I'm thinking of leaving my rig non-op and towing it. Does anyone know the laws on doing that. Do I need to register my rig for off road only. Oh yah I'm in Cali.
Thanks, Guy

but you'll never be able to drive it on the street again unless you change it back to licensed

Don't know about that. WithAMC has both a regular plate and a green sticker. Get it green stickered first then non-op it. When you decide to drive it on the street it's jsut a matter of smogging it. You can still flat tow a green stickered vechicle too.

Actually, you can't legally flat tow a green stickered vehicle. Most cops won't bother with you, but it is still ticketable.

Got the green sticker today. It was a pain in the a$$, DMV kept giving me the run around. Finally spoke to a manager and she switched over just like that. The other lady was not pleased she kept insisting I could not do that.
