On Tuesday after I did my last store in Litchfield, then I stopped at the bar for a beer, then I was on my way home when I noticed my coworker from Coke who has a 2002 F-350 Dually crewcab diesel. His transfer case blew, and he was picking up a couple shattered fragments off of the road. Upon looking under the transfer case was missing the middle, and the front driveshaft with the t-case sprocket still on, and it came out of the socket that connects to the front diff. It was only held on by some wires and the crossmember.
What kind of t-case does he have, NVG?
What the hell happened here that caused it to blow, and is this rare?
Anyway when he drove it up the trailer in RWD, the front axle appeared to be locked, because the slip socket on the diff was turning, and driveshaft was not connected.
