That is Mr. Prince of Houston, TX area. He takes off in 3rd gear. He is running a NV4500 tranny. Can you imagine how much faster he would be in an auto?

Of course it is Cummins powered.:D

LOL,

I got video that i DL from somewhere of a silver quad cab shortbed 4x4 dodge, that ran a 10.41 at 110 mph, just kills a mustang. In the video i have they claim the truck has 740hp.

Got to love the cummins. I got one.

im curious tho..

how does he avoid wheelhop in that thing?

I would imagine he avoids the wheel hop by starting in 3rd gear where he isn't getting much torque multiplication from the gearing. The turbo diesels need to spool up before their power really comes on so when he launches off the boost he isn't putting down enough torque to boil the tires and cause wheel hop.

they use traction bars too.

traction bars (http://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=35743&highlight=traction+bar%2A)

im pretty sure that he is an affiliate of enterprise diesel. im thinking that he runs twins on that truck also. if you go to enterprises website under customer rigs it should be there plus some of his time slips from the track.

He won the clash of the titans in Houston. This is where David Lott is located and was beat. David has a fast truck, but no match for the Cummins. When it comes to top HP/torque, PSD guys are way behind.

I ran my PS on amatuer night at the local drag. I ran 18.0 flat in my completely stock 02 7.3L Ford F250 PSD, with the auto and 4x4. My truck has the crewcab and 4x4 so it is heavier then most of the other trucks at the strip. From what the regulars at the track told me, this was a little quicker then an equivelant Cummins if also completely stock. I am not trying to start a Dodge/Ford war, just curious if anybody knew what an equivalnet Cummins would usually run?

I ran it in 4x2 mode, in Drive, and giving it a slight brake-torque (just enough to keep the tires from beginning to spin) while the tree was counting down, I thought that might help spool up the turbo. I didn't get a chance to try it the regualr way, but in retrospect I spun the tires way more than I should of leaving the line, and think if I hadn't brake-torqued it, and If I ease into it rather then mashing the throttle I might get a better launch. I also though about running in 4x4 so that I could put more power into the launch, but wonder if the loss of power would get me in the end.

Yes, because although my Dodge w/6 speed clearly has more power than dad's Chevy, his is much quicker to accellerate because of his Allison. I can't shift that dang big truck trans fast enough.

It is going to greatly depend on the year and model of Cummins. The power has gotten steadily stronger year after year. My current '03 HO has 305 HP and 555 lb/ft bone stock.

Automatics are hard to beat for stop light to stop light racing. On the freeway, that is another story. No advantage given to autos.
Another benefit of the auto is the ability to NOT lose turbo boost between shifts. Still, I'll take reliability over an auto....
