Let me clarify my question somewhat...

I don't want to know what cheap people like me would pay, I want to know what people out there who have been looking for them are willing to pay.

I buy cores from 1 ton duallys around home for around 400.00 complete , brent had 2 housings that he wanted 400.00 for both, and I sold a r.r. rear I built w/ 40 spline m.w. shafts , spool and 513 for 2500.00 with disk brakes . Really they are comparable to the chevy in price for rockcrawling now for a person restoring a nice ford 78-79 maybe 1600-1700 that it for a cherry one

I think you have the ford and the dodge confused, everywhere I've seen the dodge and chevy (which are both low pinion) go for about the same, whereas the ford (which is a reverse cut hi pinion) brings $1000-$2000 depending on condition

going price from the Salvage yards around here is about $900 to $1200 for a complete front dana 60 hub to hub. That would be the most I would pay, but being cheap I found a complete 79 F250 with d60s for $900.

If you don't already know the 78-79 Ford front D60s were RC60. High pinions seem to be more valuable to some.

i paid 1400 for a single wheel, king pin rc d60.

i've noticed 1500 is the average accepted price for a rc d60. any less is a 'deal' any more it better be in awesome shape.

the chevy/dodge d60's fronts are deffinately going for less.

no confusion they are ford dana 60's , I used to buy them from a guy in WA. and only gave 650.00 for them but that was the housing

When I was lookin' for one all the junkyards wanted $1500-2000 for a complete RC D60. Ball-joint or King-pin price didn't really seem to change.

I found one for $1000 and happily jumped on the deal

$1500 is the usual that I have seen depending on the condition.

When I was looking I found a number of 79 Ford D60s right at $1000. I wouldn't pay anymore than $1100, you know you're gonna have to rebuild it. I've seen them for less and more. IT all depends on how patient you are and how far you're willing to drive to get it.

In my junkyard searches I have found late model ford D60 fronts range from 600-850 Yes that is d60 not d50.I was told (by the owner of the yard) the reason was he did not get as many calls for the late model. Yards are in business to sell used parts to people with used cars. They do not make there living selling used parts to people that completely rebuild them and put them on trucks that have had 3-10 times there value spent on them,to take and in the woods and beat the crap out of them. We are still a very small % of the bussiness(although I know a couple of yards that I have put there kids through college). The other thinG I have heard is they are availble as take outs,I guess from dealerships, because I have seen them this cheap 4-5 times.
900-1250 is the range for yours IMO.

I paid $700 for mine but it was missing the calipers and one lock out. Going price is in the $1200 - 1500 range at yards. Anything under a $1000 is a deal in my opinion. The cheapest way to get them around here is to buy the whole truck and part them out. But that takes time so in the end it may not be any cheaper.

yeah so the jokes on me now huh

;)

well no I can't find them all the time, but it can be done!

so thats why I would'nt pay alot for one just caust I couldn't find one that day...

the one I got for my front was 350 complete (or course it needed everything new) but yeah I know thats a good deal

and I've got some for some buddies that traded parts to me for em'

so yeah I'd be interested in making 100 buck on one but I NEED to find more first...

yes I can find em all day long for 1000 + but like I said I won't buy one for that!!

so I find more and I'll post em in for sale!!

later
