: best place for gears??

im about to buy some 4.88's for my cruiser..where's the best place to get the gears from??

Stay with the 4.11's. Since you already have a crawler tranny, you will have spares with 4.11 3rd members. THat has been the biggest problem going to 4.88's.

You shell a 3rd member and you are out of business unless you spend big $$ having yours rebuilt.

If I had it to do over, I would build a good traction bar and grab 2 or 3 extra 3rd members and be done with it!

My .02, sorry. Got mine at Reider Racing, they were Precision Gear.

I would pick up a set of Precision gears if I had to choose a set. I have heard nothing but good things about Precision over the years. If you shop around you can find them at a good price. If I remember right, I want to say that when my friend bought gears for his Jeep, Leon Rosser had the best prices on Precision gear sets. I have also heard that Richmond are good as well, but they are made out a softer metal compound that is more well equipped for racing than rock crawling. HTH

precishion gears are good.

Warning dont buy from randys ring and pinion
ther jeneric set is infurior.
