My front Dana 60 came out to 65.5 after I cut the longside down to go under my 4runner. The rear Dana 60 I picked up is 67"wms-wms. I plan on running spacers to make the front match like say 1.75 a side to make the front 69" again. But I am working on getting a 65"wms-wms rear D60 I found which would be best, then I would just leave the front. Is having both F&R axles equal width ok or does the front need to be a little wider? Obviosly turning would suck if the rear was wider than the front. But I am just wondering if turning wil be that much better with a wider front? 69" is just freakin wide!! After 15X10's and 15" wide tire.

also keep in mind that with the front wider the vehicle will track straighter in the mud/snow/sand whatever... other wise the rear will try to "push" the front around....
my front is only 3 inches wider that my rear, and I noticed a huge improvement over the stock 1" as far as handling, tracking, and steering..

i have seen alot of d70's that have a wms-wms of 65" why not just go pick one up? d70's have 35spline axles too:D well most do anyway. most rear 60's only have the 30spline jobbers. just my op.

i heard only good stuff about running a wider front that rear,
i'm getting some 1 3/8" spacers made just for my front axle, (so my Hummer wheels will fit) but i'm thinking this will help keep my tires off the leaf springs better and also.
funny, i narrowed my front axle 2" and now i'm adding spacers to it :smokin:

Hey Man
Stock GM live axle trucks all came with a wider front axle than the rear axle.
My Cruiser front axle was 2.5" wider in the front from the factory as well.
Don't worry about it, slap it in and wheel it.
