: Question on a Trail Master Lift

My daughter wanted me to post this!
We bought her an '88 XJ four door for her first car.
I put a "Trail Master" lift on the front which has a welded unit for the drop down "Pockets" for the front lift.
4 Wheel Parts stiffed us on this one, the sales guy said it came with "new" rear springs, it didn't, so another $150 for 4" springs.
We used the ad-a-leafs that came with the kit with the 4" springs.
To level it out we used the Rubicon Express 1.74" "dounuts" in the front. We now have a about a 5 & 1/2" lift with 32 X11.50 tires.
My problem is this, the "Trail Master" front dropdown for the front control arms, " MOANS LIKE AN OLD WHORE" on the road, pulling into the driveway, stopping, etc. Does any one have this problem with this lift. Terry

Very similar drop down brackets are used in Rubicon Express's 5.5" lift kit, and I've never heard of anyone having any groaning noises coming out of them.

If it's really the brackets making the noise (and not your arm bushings), I'd tighten up all the bolts, and think about getting the Rubicon Express support brackets, that help tie the dropdowns into the frame.

Did you final tight your control arm bolts while they were still hanging in the air, or did you do it when the weight was back on the suspension? (you're supposed to do it last).
Are you still running the stock control arms?
