Or are the arms $350 each?

How about a 5 hole arm for those of us that run reversed steering? Any plans there?

Maybe I should add to the post above...I'm running my full-hydro ram behind the axle (no drag-link)...So two reversed singles would be awesome.

I know there are more of us out there...Let's make our voices heard to catch the ear of the manuf. and let's get a run made!

Hmmm, It may take a month or two, but if there really is enough interest, I'm sure it can be done... Anyone else interested?

Anyone interested enough to put down a deposit if I can get an aproximate delivery date?

I'll probably need at least 5 orders to make it affordable.

See who else you can round up and I'll check on timeframe and cost.

I would be interested in getting a set of knuckles and arms for behind-the-axle steering as well.

I would even be amenable to putting down a deposit.

Cool...That's three...Two more.

Scott? (hee hee)

Keep us posted Inch. You'd be the first to do it that's for sure...I do think there would be a market for those that run conventional knucks with a reversed steering system that plan on runing the Dedenbear knucks eventually...At least I know I would buy the 5 hole arms first, then buy the knucks if that's the way it had to be at that moment. Basically what I mean is there is no harm in running a 5th hole in an arm on a standard knuck...But it sucks to have the 5th hole in the knuck and not on the arm...

Hmmmm...More coffee?

Would it be inappropriate to post a link to this thread in Gen4x4 so that we could get a few more people who want the reversed steering arm combo?

OK, Here's the deal. I need 5 orders with $150 deposits. I should be able to deliver the arms in 6-8 weeks once I have 5 orders. These arms will be single hole arms on both sides (no drag link)and the price will be $350/set.

Can we get the promo deal on the reversed single arms, 5-stud package, and knuckles?

I'd be willing to place an order before Sept 1st if so, otherwise, I'll just through down the deposit for the reversed 5 hole arms.

Hey Inch...

Why don't you corrdinate with Ryan to see if he has any contacts that have asked this same question. I'm ready to plunk down the deposit now, but I need to know if there are two or three more.

Ryan? You got your ears on?

Let's move on this guy's! If you have an interest in the baddest arms made in a reverse pattern speak up!

Hey Inch (Jim), why dont you check with OTT about making 6 hole arms??? With 6 holes, they could be used forward or backward on the Dedenbear knuckles. This could also be a good sales point as the arm could be flipped in the future by a customer that may have his/her steering up front now, but has plans for moving to the behind the axle style in the future.

Sure, no problem, the same package deal applies. Remember, I will need to get the 5 orders to place my order.

Doug, I will be checking on doing the 6 hole arms...(maybe you should make 6 stud knuckles!) :D

All, I will be traveling tomorrow and won't be back online untill Tuesday. Please email or voice mail your orders, and contact info, and I will confirm with each of you on tuesday and let you know if we have enough orders by then.

Thanks for the great input!

RockRover-

when you say "reversed single hole arms" ... I understand you only need a single hole for the tie rod because you are going hydro, but by reversed I take it you mean you want the arms to go behind the axle?

Just making sure I understand.

Are any of you all running a Ford front 60? My concern is whether or not the tie-rod will clear the pumpkin running behind the axle. What wheelbase are these arms made for? They are some pretty nice arms!

norton

I will be running a Ford HP 60, and I don't think I will have a problem with clearance over the center section.

Are the arms going to be 6-hole or 5-hole?

If they are 6 hole, I think we stand a better chance of getting more orders since, you can swap from arms-front- to arms-back and not lose the use of the 5th stud hole.

dotrappe:

These arms are a one size fits all setup. If you can figure out exactly what you want, I can order you a set of custom arms built to your specs. This would, of course, cost about 40-50% more.

Eliot:

I discussed the 6 hole arms with OTT. The arms are offset toward the inside so you'd have to swap sides in order to clear the wheels. This would leave you with the long arm on the wrong side to be used with a drag link, so it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to do it that way.

Update on the full hydro, reversed arms:

After one more discussion with OTT, we decided that if we did just a set of single hole arms for full hydro, that they could be 6 hole and still be usefull either forward or reversed. Both arms will look essentially like the picture below with the exception of the 6th hole which will be added on the right to make them reversible. I went ahead and placed the order. I expect delivery within 4-6 weeks.

Jim,
Do you still have the extra set? How far out is the hole for the tie rod from the center of the kingpin? Also, is the arm set up for the the standard 1/2" studs or 9/16"? Lastly, is the tie rod a standard 1 ton taper or is it set up for a hiem (if hiem what size bolt?).

Thanks,
Sean

Sean,

Yes, I do have one more set in stock and we can order more if anyone else wants them. The distance from center of kingpin to center of tierod is 6", the studs are 1/2" but are tapered for cone washers (included), and the hole is drilled for a 3/4" Hiem joint. I can ship them monday.

I got my knuckles and reversed arms in yesterday, and all I can say is "Holy F***ing Sh*t, these are huge and well nigh indestructible".

Thank you Jim for putting this deal together. Thanks to Dedenbear for making such a kickass aftermarket kingpin outer. Thanks to OTT for doing the custom fab run of the reversed steering arms.

I am one very happy customer.

Jim,
Are other distances from the center of the kingpin to the tie rod hole available (on future sets if you end up making more)? I'd LOVE to buy the set you have left, but my steering is still up in the air. I'm planning full hydro from Station, but I'm not sure how far out I'll have to mount the ram ends (with a double ended ram). From the pics, it doesn't look like there's enough meat to put another hole at the end of the arm.

If you make more of these "flippable" arms, will they be available in longer lengths perhaps without holes?

Thanks,
Sean

Inchworm

Sean,

Just about anything is possible, however, if it is going to be affordable, we need to have orders for at least 5 sets. I can get you a set of custom arms made, but they will probably cost you about $700. If you can find 4 more people who want the same set of arms you do, then the price per set comes down considerably. The cost is in the initial setup and programming of the machine. At the same time, if we can use a pair of arms that are already setup, and just change the link hole configuration, then they might not cost too much more. Let me know when you are ready and we'll take a look at what you want and see what can be done.
