: Ridiculously good customer service from da PIG
BillaVista 08-27-2003, 05:36 PM So I finally decide the radius arm bushings in my front lower links have to go, and I'm going to replace them with the RE cartridge joints.
I called PIG at polyperformance.com.
Because I'm a million miles and 4 time zones away (suprisingly he wasn't in the shop at 04:00 hours ;) ) I had to leave a message
Dude calls me back right away - long distance, even tho it's a piddly sale of 2 joints.
He patiently listens to my story of needing them shipped to some 3rd party who will truck them back across the border with some other stuff, bla bla bla, then we realize he can't take my Cdn CC over the phone.
So he trusts me - ships the product, and later e-mails me a total so i can pay-pal him.
Then - later the very same day automaticly sends a UPS tracking e-mail.
All for a piddly sale.
Thanks Dave!
(I've spent $2k before at other places and tried to get a tracking number 2 weeks after stuff supposedly shipped and it was like trying to pull teeth - I hate that)
Gordon 08-27-2003, 06:12 PM Yeah Dave is awesome.
H8monday 08-27-2003, 06:40 PM Thats great to hear, I only recently met Dave, while at a competition. I was impressed with his proffesional demeanor, and plan to do buisness with him in the future.
BJ On Roids 08-27-2003, 06:58 PM Man, no-one in AU even knows what customer service is
I concur, Polyperformance kicks a$$.
Excellent service, great to talk to, very helpful.
Not bad ads in the vendor section either, speaking of I think we need a new one!
Thanks Dave for your support:beer:
geepincj7 08-27-2003, 07:54 PM Dave sold me some coilovers and even though I am stupid about spring rates and valving he stuck with me with great patience and lead me to what I needed. His service is fast and he knows his stuff! Highly recommended
ROKN ZJ 08-27-2003, 07:58 PM Yea Dave patiently answers all my stupid suspension questions, and has always gotten my orders out promptly. Plus he lets me chill under his tent at comps which is nice when the temp is 154degrees :D

Why, are you thinking about adding suspension to that sled one of these days? The extra weight is really gonna make it hard on the forklift.:flipoff2:
ROKN ZJ 08-27-2003, 08:29 PM :flipoff2:
Yea I'm working on things for next year. This year was just practice... I'm trying to learn as much as I can to keep us off the forklifts.

Thanks for the kind words, I really do appreciate it.;)
To Jwag, you should see what I have in the works for the next add in the vendors fourm................ :bender: + chicks =
CRAWLR 08-27-2003, 09:14 PM I ordered a bunch of stuff from Dave and I think he called me more times than I called him during the whole process just to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. And guess what, I got exactly what I needed the first fawking time! Can't say that about many vendors anymore. Way cool to deal with!

Yes, the new pig mobile should be unvailed at the next JV trip next month.
Dave has also helped me on alot,,,,,,set me up with some killer suspension parts and made sure it worked to my liking. Without a doubt, I'll be a repeat customer.
GOAT1 08-28-2003, 08:02 AM Yeah, Pigs cool, ..........................to bad he's gay.
BTW that bender kicks ass.
Thrashed ZJ 08-28-2003, 09:20 AM Not doubting Pigs's service as there are lots of people to attest to his nature as a good man.
But my question to you Bill is this. Do you tell them that you are "Billavista from PBB"? Or do you just give them a number a name like a normal person?
I know that if I was contacted by a big name from the PBB and was asked to do a service you would get ALL of my attention for fear of a bad review.....but maybe I am just paranoid.
Reason I ask is this. I am in Alaska. I cannot meet any of you at these RC events and me and most of the guys I know rely on the internet (this site specifically) for product reviews. I have and will continue to buy stuff from the vendors here on the PBB. Just trying to satisfy my curiosity.
Run dog 08-28-2003, 09:27 AM Yep. Dave is a great guy. I just ordered my new FOX air coils from him and got my UPS tracking # last night. I can't wait to put those under my new comp buggy for the "SuperCrawl". Hell, I was in San luis obispo for business and he invited me over to his house and had a beer with him. I believe all of his Cal Poly Alums are all in the suspension / motorsport business. Daren

Alaska, Dave didn't know me from a hole in the ground when I first met him, but he did his best to help me out when I needed it. As I said hes always quick to answer all my questions, and get me what I need. I think he treats all his customers the same, with great service.

ultimatebronco 08-28-2003, 10:13 AM I just saw that also Dave's Dana 60 flanges are in Petersons this month on page 56. Give it up for the skull and cross bones.

Rudezuk 08-28-2003, 12:47 PM Dave has always been a great guy to me and my team:D
BillaVista 08-28-2003, 01:38 PM Alaska ZJ - a fair question. The funny thing is - I can't say for sure, because Dave knew who I was - but not because I introduced myself as "Billavista" (I couldn't actually do that with a straight face), or because I'm a "big name" from this BB - but because he knew me from BEFORE I became a name on this BB.
I guess, in the end, "the proof is in the pudding". As he said - call and find out. I find that within 2 mins I know if I'm comfortable spending $$ with someone - even if it's only $50.
Persoanlly, I like to think I can be a pretty shrewd judge of character / service - and I *think* I can tell if someone's truly providing service or if they're just playing my "name".
Think of it like this - imagine if someoene WAS snowing me - and then I reccommend them, and then peeps get treated like poo. They'd get slammed, and my rep goes in the toilet - leaves me with nothing - I'm cognizant of this - I don't reccommend easily (tho I may not be the punisher Camo is :flipoff2: )
You have my word - I will not recommend someone I know or suspect is not truly great - no matter what they offered. It would be short-sighted - but most of all it would be unethical. I like to think my "real" job is all about honour and truth and duty.

Overkiller 08-28-2003, 11:41 PM Some more thanks for the PIG. I'm building a 4x4 motorhome and he's given me service above and beyond what I'd expect if I was building a full tilt boogy comp rig. I've gotten the massive 1 1/4" Heims for a GREAT price and I'll be calling him shortly for the coilovers. There's not enough threads praising the individuals in the business that still take care of their customers. Thanks PIG
