hey, the drill press i've got has had the piece on the side with the teeth on it that the drilling table raises/lowers on broken in half for about five years now. i've had the piece clamped to the tube so i could raise the table up and down with some range of motion albeit not full nor can i rotate the table around the tube because of this. can someone tell me what the piece is called or how i could go about getting another one. it's a kinda old high end cheapo drill press .. i think it says chicago machinery on it. anybody help me out ?

thanks.

Get the model no. off of it and check with harbor freight tools. They carry the Chicago Machinery brand. I actually was able to
warranty a piece of my sheetmetal brake through them. I was pleasantly suprised.

Do you mean the long flat piece that runs up the post and has teeth?

Can you not weld it back together and grind it down to still mesh corectly?
