: Costco has 37" Krawlers!
helocat 08-29-2003, 02:46 PM Costco has 37" Krawlers!
Just left Costco and they had a set of 37x12.50x17 Krawlers for $334.99 each! They also could get the un-grooved kind as well. No sign of the 40’s yet. But still that’s like $65 cheaper than I have seen them. And that price is mounted & ballenced with road hazard!!WTF!!!!:flipoff2:
Mark
Ok so $1339.96 for tires and $1200 for Walker Evens R 17" rims.....thats only $2539.96 gulp.
(No I dont work for costco, just jumped when I saw them.)
TxCruzr 08-29-2003, 02:47 PM You should have asked if they could mount them up for you just so you can see what they'll look like:D

helocat 08-29-2003, 02:49 PM BTW,
The Costco tire guy was classic.. “Ah now you don’t really want to drive those on the street, they are some kind of special off road... you know rock type tire.”
“ohhh I just thought the looked all knobby and cool like” Hay I gota give him credit at least he is warning people they are not really meant for the mall rides.

Ya but then I would say to myself "forget paying for Day Care next month" and have a new set of tires! It really just chuncking down the cash for the new 17" rims that kills me.
Mark
Kewl, can they build a rig to mount them on:)
BJ On Roids 08-29-2003, 06:03 PM do they ship out? think i could buy some and ship them to AUS (Brisbane, Queensland 4178)

I will ship them for you.
Let me know.
See if Forwardair.com does AU. I saw an international window there the other day :D
BJ On Roids 08-29-2003, 06:50 PM SWEET
i can get some 17" wheels with toyota 6 stud pattern from the new prado  BLING!
the international box i clicked on only shows something like sea freight and says something about containers and stuff, there was no way to check on a price for shipping to AU!

:D
I dunno, call forward air. If not, I will do the leg work on this end, just find the best price and you can send me the $$ on the tires. They should be less than posted in this tread since you won't need Mounting and Balancing.
I would wait 6 months and get the 39.5's though, the 37's are short!
BJ On Roids 08-29-2003, 07:01 PM Live mid-market rates as of 2003.08.30 01:58:39 GMT.
1,339.96 USD United States Dollars = 2,071.36 AUD Australia Dollars
If i could gett 10% off the costco price id be golden and the discount could nearly cover the shipping.
Do they have online discount codes ever???
:D

I may hang out 6 months then.
How tall do the 37s measure?????????
I would think 37? If so then that would be plenty....
damn, so tempting to wait.....
Sounds like a good plan Nolen. I will find the best price and get my wheels and internal beadlocks sorted on this end, and then lube myself up :D and get the best rockcrawling tyres OHH YEAH!!!!!
Unless smalltimewheeler wants to sell some take-offs. :flipoff2:  barely, used, never taken offroad :D
ginericfj80 08-29-2003, 07:06 PM Costco doesn't usually have sales or discounts. The whole philosophy is that they have the lowest price for members to begin with.
You might also want to try to find someone to get them in a state without sales tax. Oregon and Montana come to mind.

Whaaa? First I've heard of that... Short compared to the 39.5's, yeah...
ginericfj80 08-29-2003, 09:21 PM But he is on 42s, so I guess he can call 37s short. One other thing I was wondering is how true to size are these BFGs running. If it is like their typical measuring the 37s are probably more like a 35.

If you get the 37's you will be wanting bigger tires in a couple of months..
BJ stop screwing around....
smalltimewheeler 08-29-2003, 10:49 PM The 37s actually measure real close to 37" and they weigh 72 lbs each. I wouldn't hold my breath to long for the 39s to come out for several months if not the new year. They make them in small batches since its always up in the air.
helocat 08-29-2003, 11:36 PM BJ
Sounds like Grog has you covered on shipping you out a set. As Eric said Oregon does not have a sales tax, so if you want a set I don’t mind helping out from OR. Costco took $10 off per tire for a friend who bought a set of 35x12.5's from them when they refused to install them on a 8x15" rim. (They claimed they had to go onto a 10x15") So you could pull about $40 off that pricing if one was to buy just the tires. As for rims I have been looking at the Walker Evens 17" foraged aluminum integrated bead lock rims. I don’t know about availability but they look like a great product from what I have seen. Still about $300 each, but that’s cheep for a true foraged aluminum rim w/ bead locks!
I have to agree with Nolan on waiting for the big’ins. 39" Krawlers would be a great size.

Im building a small, light buggy, big tyres are for monster trucks and the 42s are too hard on the axles! Till i get some mogs or something!

The 37" Krawler sounds like the way I will go!

I hate costco  the little bitch at the place will refuse to install my 35x12.50x15 tires on my 8" rims, claims that i need at least a "8.5" rim to put them on. WTF is that?? Who the hell sells a 8.5" wide rim?? I think i'm going to have to get my installation money back and go get them mounted somewhere else.

So I’m talking to the Costco tire guy and he says “ya so this little bitch ask me to put a 35" on an 8" rim”.......:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
BJ, i frequent the Nevada costco in Reno every couple weeks. I
would assume they have a forward air terminal because of the
airport. I mention this because Nevada doesn't have tax and
maybe I can send the tires the other way around the world :D. let
me know if this helps or you are interested and i'll look further into
it.

I guess if you consider 7.25% no tax :D also, I don't think there is a forward air depot in reno.
