Ok, Im still debating on how im going to go about getting 7-12 more inches out of my current YJ wheelbase. I think I'll probably end up doing something similiar to what H8Monday did but mount the shackle not quite that far back.... As far as drilling the leaf spring centerpin holes. I've heard several people say that it will weakin the leafpack and will eventually break at the old hole. Why is this? This may sound stupide but, What if I left the old centerpin in the old hole or used a grade-8 bolt and bolted it together? Just looking for an alternative route rather than buying new springs... I like my RE Military wrapped leafs :D
P.S. I want to re-drill back about 4-5 inches...

As far as drilling and what not I can't help. But as far as getting a few more inches what if you build new spring mounts say 6" long and off center drill the locater hole? Just a thought! Try it for what it's worth $0.02

Well thats kind of what im going to be doing... I plan on moving the shackle mount and fixed leaf mount back about 3-4 including in the rear aswell as adding some offset centerpinned leafs.. I figure if I move the leaf spring mounts back 3.5" and some 4" centerpin offset leafs that would bring my rear back a total of ~7.5 or so inches.. Then re-drilling my current front leafs or getting some waggy's that would bring the front forward 2 or so inches... in total i will have about 9.5-10" longer of wheelbase. Around 103" :D

I think you might have missed what I ment. Build new mounts on the tube it self for the spring to bolt to ( I.E. spring pad) but instead of having the hole in the center put more tward the front edge for an added offset!

Here was the problem, You read mounts when I was thinking pad's. Don't worry it happens to the best of us! LOL!

hhhmmm...? Never really thought about that. Would it be safe though? probably if I only went 4" back or so.. If I went 4" back on the perch and 4" back on the shackle and leaf spring mounts that would get me back 8 inches.. :D Although I've heard somewhere before that you want to keep the centerpin behind the u-bolts and under the u-bolt plate, otherwise it isnt safe and can break. I dont trailer my Jeep yet so street driveability is still an issue...
Im also concerned about how my springs are going to react to having my jeeps weight ride 4 or so inches more on one side than the other. Does anyone know if this is going to fawk things up??
