: Anybody on the board from Milwaukee?
MR4WD 08-30-2003, 06:54 PM My old man's on that 100th anniversary H.O.G. ride...
It's not really my thing, but I'm curious if any of you have gone to any of the events and taken pictures. (Especially the parade)
It would be wicked if you had any pictures of the old man, but I'm not too sure the liklihood of that. I'm sure there's thousands of bikes down there and the chances of catching him are slim to none.
For the heck of it, he's on a 2003 Ultra Glide Classic (silver-black) decked out in Harley leathers.
Shoot, even if you could send me to a site with pictures that would be great, and I'll do the searching myself.
Thanks in advance,
Chad.
MR4WD 08-30-2003, 06:58 PM I just looked at harley's site. What I described matches about 50,000 of the people down there... Send me your pictures reguardless,
thanks.
Mustard Dog 08-30-2003, 08:53 PM The bigger question should be,"Is there anyone from Milwaukee that could give a fawk about mr4wd."
TexasBlake 08-30-2003, 08:54 PM They make badass power tools, i'll tell ya what.
Entropy 08-30-2003, 09:50 PM Supposed to be 250,000 bikes in Milwaukee this weekend.
150,000 of those came through Kenosha on the parade supposedly.
I also heard that the Hell's Angels are in Racine and the Outlaws are here in Kenosha... and the Leader of the Outlaws just went to prison for killing a Hell's Angel. Don't know the truth in it.
Just more traffic to me... I have been going to the joints not frequented by tourists so I haven't seen as many bikers.

I hear you on the tourists though, there's plenty around here. Pain in the ass.
Thanks.

Ah yes, beaty in the eye of the beholder. Some people like fullsize trucks while other people call turbo charging garbage cool. My last truck never had lift blocks or a weenie 2.3 liter, this one won't either.

Your last truck didn't have lift blocks? How many trucks ago was that? I guess you finally decided it was a bad design.
ChiScouter 08-31-2003, 05:33 PM Rained cats and dogs all afternoon in Chicago, every viaduct on 294 had a half dozen hogs headed South from Milwaukee parked underneath. A few hard core guys were on the road but were getting brutalized

I and four friends rode back Sunday...started gettin' wet 'round Beloit. We pulled over for some dinner when we couldn't see
any longer. :p Rain sub-sided to a drizzle so we hit the road
again and managed to "airdry" as the rain stopped. Got ten
miles from home and ran into another downpour but what ya
gonna do...it's part of it.
300,000 bikes and a little over twice as many ppl.
KICK-ASS weekend for sure. We had a ball. ;)

Me spending a fistful of 100's and taking time off work to kick your ass is far from practical. If you were a 5 dollar cab ride across town, I'd be more than happy to realign your face.
PS, Bubba, don't talk to me until I fingerbang your little sister with a miniature poodle.
MATTS- what happened to the sherminator icon you used to have a while back?
Everybody else: thanks. Sorry to hear about the shitty weather! Hope the riding's good.
Mustard Dog 09-02-2003, 08:01 PM Here's the irony of this thread.
If you weren't such a total asshole you'd have had a grip of people posting up helpful info. Instead you got nothing, see how things work.

No turd, irony is me asking for pictures from the area and you trying to give me grief, me responding to it and you getting upset about it.
Like I was saying, thanks for the useful input from everybody else. I'm still curious if anybody knows of any good websites with pictures? H-D has copious amounts of pictures, but I'd imagine they're suffering bandwidth issues due to a million other people waiting for pictures to load. Other than that, I come across generic stereotypical biker sites, and the odd news bulletin. In any event, thanks for the input.

Well, captain obvious, if your original post wasn't meant as a dig towards me personally, then my mistake and I apoligize. No harm no foul? I think it's pretty obvious, but gee if you're that much of a simpleton I'll go ahead and erase everything I posted towards you.
Secondly, the "supposed" part where you got all upset about it was in your reply: If you weren't such a total asshole you'd have had a grip of people posting up helpful info. Instead you got nothing, see how things work.
I figured that to be a pretty obvious explanation on your part, displaying some sort of emotion. I called it upset. Other than some keener-bad wagon-popularity contest, what's your gripe?
Oh, and realisticly... What are the chances of me flying, OR driving down to the "hammers" so you can try and bring across your beef with me? The only way I'd go anywhere is for work. Or perhaps southern BC for vacation. Now, if by chance I'm in your neck of the woods (90731 is it?) you'll be the first to know. I expect the same from you. Otherwise, stfu and stop calling people names and whining all over the internet. :crybaby:

I vote playing with words. I didn't have blocks or U-bolts on that last set up. I had what you could call (in a self explanatory name) , raised leaf mounts. Not blocks per se. Those mounts would have had to have been tougher than most factory leaf mounts, just by nature of welding and material wall thickness.
(tangient on) In any event, the dreaded axle wrap that everyody talks about only occured once, going up a tightly packed river bank where all 4 tires dug in. The truck pretty much bunny hopped, but I'm not sure if that was from drivetrain slack and tires wrinkling, or all 3. I DO know the front end always bounced wildly when I was silly with the gas pedal on dryer ground and that had no blocks. PS, have you ever seen the front axle of an international school bus, or any front axles of an all wheel drive off-highway semi truck? Lift blocks! Atrocious I know. (tangient off)
Milwaukee 100th harley cruise? Pictures? Info? Thanks.

You should try living near Wis. Dells.. You can't avoid the tourists...you just can't. I had some dude and his GF stop on a bike yesterday asking if I had any tools as they had some issues with the bike. Turned out they needed nothing but a few end wrenches, and seemed like very nice people. 45min after they left my dog is going nuts again...I wander outside to see what is happening and I have a bike in my driveway..some 20 yr old kid and his zombi woman wanted to know if I would sell them a live chicken for the evenings "activity" at the campground. I informed them I have no chickens, and then let the dog out of the pen and went back to work in the house.

we plan on being there Thurs nite thru Sun AM...rumor has it there is a "real" rock trail to run, but we'll see. Last time the event was there, the "real tuff rock garden" almost required 4wd...
Bummer you are a working stiff on weekends, MR4WD...IIRC, you are in the Madison area....bus fare to Antigo is more expensive than I thought.
P|n-BaLL 09-03-2003, 06:41 AM That is "sum rumor" I was seriously considering brining my stock Suburban just to keep it amusing. (ok and admitedly the other trucks are in pieces) I may just show up Sat morning early and see if Luana or anyone has something for me to help out with, maybe I can help bug folks about lack of tow hooks or something LOL That or I will find a checkpoint to hang out at....

The tourists don't really bother me... but traffic sucks when they get that many. Last Thursday, traffic was ridiculous... although the biker picnics in the break down lanes was cool. Should have stopped and asked for free food? ;)
What's going on in Antigo?

I think I did get a couple e-mails about it from Kenton.
My truck is sitting because of cancer on the cab mounts until I move into the house... so I can't do any wheeling anytime soon.
I'll check with Kenton to see if he is going and wants company... but he is moving soon too, so I don't know if he will be going.
woody 09-03-2003, 07:05 AM BTW the rally is doubling with a Blues Fest up there....best of ALL worlds! :D
I'm doing a checkpoint with Twin City BushWackers...good excuse on Sat to sit on my ass and drink responsibly....
also heard there is a parade in town on Fri, might turn my junk into a poseur rig and do that...probably have to wash it tho first...hehehe

Yeah it's the traffic that gets me too ...if you have ever been in Wis Dells ya know there is one bridge across the river....and it's always plugged solid...it takes me an average of 30 min to drive from the East side of town to the buisness district on the West side of town, and it's only 7 miles. Yesterday I saw some dude get run over on his Harley when a Expedition sporting 20" wheels and more bling than I could recount made a abrupt lane change. I am glad the 'season" is about done.

The money's not that great really. Unless I was in the eastern states. Either way, I like my job so much I alost have to pay my employer. I mean, I plan on moving every three or four years or so, there's a huge demand for my trade everywhere. Plus, it would be a great opportunity to travel.
Anyways, I hear you guys on the tourist thing. I'd find my self losing my patience very fast in circumstances like your own. Oh well, thanks for the replies.
