I have a 79 1/2 ton chevy. I was wondering cheapest way to get good 4 inches without using blocks. thanks.

Build or buy a shackle flip. Easy to do and cheap if you build one your self. To buy one of the best ones that i have seen check out off road design (http://www.offroaddesign.com) They sell for around 180 or so.

Go and get some rear spring front brackets (the brackets in the rear closest to the cab). Grind off your rear shackle hanger rivets. Bolt the brackets on and BAM - 4" of lift for the rear.
