I'd like to use 1" self tapping screws in the wall between the engine and passenger compartment....are there areas to avoid? I don't want to drive screws into something by mistake.

I don't have a Jeep, and I don't know where you're drilling ;)

1" might be kind of long. The self-tapping wafer screws used to assemble steel-stud walls are handy. They're #8 and 1/2" long. Also have a nice wide flat head on them.

Its an 03 TJ

Stuck my head under the dash and most of it seems clear. I made the assumption that like on most vehicles, you'd have a hellva time seeing up there....bad assumption.

Yeah, those are the teck screws I used....worked like a charm.

Thanks!
