im putting my newbie crap here...

im mounting a cummins 4bt to a nv4500 to a DIVORCED np205. i thought i had read that the jack shaft should not be mounted without any deflection, or without an angle in it. is that correct?
do i mount the tranny say 1 inch above the transfer? the jack shaft is about 6 inches long.... unfortunately i dont remember how it was before i removed it.whats the most i could mount it higher than the transfer?

i mounted mine w/ about 1 inch of offset and about 18 inces long.
