: 93 302 pullys

I wanted to use the complete pully system that came with the stock power steering system I bought but:

* The crank pully has 3 bolts
* Even if I drilled the 3 bolt pully for 4 bolts it still stand out ~3/4" further from the block due to the thicker harmonic ballancer.
* I haven't been able to locate a crank pully with the 4 bolt pattern that has this short of a standoff.

The only option I am left with is to revert to the serpentine setup. The down side of this is that I have to go pull the crap from the junk yard or pay out $500+.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

That would be part of what it would take to do a underdriven serp. setup. I personally am willing to sacrifice the theroetical 48.72 HP gain for a better coolant flow, higher volume available from the P/S pums and higher output from the alternator. But that me.

The pther problems with the serp. sutup:
needs reverse rotation water pump
needs reverse rotation fan
needs the newer style P/S pump
sticks out further from the front of the motor than the V-belt setup.

I ordered a semi custom harmonic ballancer for $170 that will keep my motor ballanced while allowing me to use the stock 3 bolt crank pully that I have. The guy seemed very confident that this is the full solution and he said he sells this item to street rodders and off roaders all the time. We'll see. If all works well I'll post the name and other stuff so it can be shared with others.
