Hello
1-I've got a dana 70 rear end , and the bom is D605158-1 .
I'd like to buy stuff for it , and i can't understand what model
of dana 70 is it ? - there were 5 models - and mine , has 'dana
70' on the upperside of the pumpkin , above the pinion .
* Is it the HD version ?
* can i put 40 spline shaft inside ?

2- I'm working on a double transfer cases adaptor , from a np203
and a np205 .
* where can i get parts for the reduction box of the 203 ?
* Is it possible to use a divorced 205 ?
* Should i use the female 32 spline shaft from off-road design , or
can use the 10 spline shaft ?
* Where can i get an adaptor to the TH400-np203 ?
* Can i do an adaptor like this , by my self ?
* What other upgrades , can i use for this set-up ?
* What do you think about double 205's ?

Thanks in advance

Its a Dana 70 rear end from a '85-90.5 Chrylser Israli aircraft vehical. The only thing I'm not sure of is the Isral aircraft part :confused:

I have dual divorced 205s in my rig, it works pretty well, but the price on 4 drive lines is a little crazy. The nice part is that the 2wd tranny was really cheap, and there are no other special adapters or parts, in fact I think I spent about $600 for the tranny and transfers all in new rebuilt or almost new condition, combined.

Why not a 203/205 or a 203/203/205?

yeah probably an aircraft tug. i have seen them on base before here (not that it would be out of the same type rig). they have 2wd dodge trucks (the ones i have seen are 94-2001 cab) that are single cab and are really short. it looks like a d70 single wheel rear and when i say short i mean the rear tires are not far from the cab. short!!!

This vehicle has 4wd , the rear is Dana 70 and the front Dana 60 .
The ratio is 4.88 and the transfer case is NP 205 .
The engine is a dodge type , looks like the 258 but it turned on his side and the tranny is NP 465 .
The pumpkin has round shape , only with one 'wing' .
When i'll have pictures i'll post them .

" Why not a 203/203/205? " - Do you mean 1:8 ? that's the first time ive heard that - sounds great .
But why not to change the gears in the NP 203 reduction box ?
They have from the main shaft to the tranny shaft - 42:24 and
then 35 :27 ( in the small gears ) , so why not to replace them ? there is enogh space to do this ?

which NP203 inpput gear you use (10 or 32 spline or whatever) depends on which tranny your going to run. different 203's have different inputs, i'm guessing you have a NP435 (not a SM465) cause were talking chrysler stuff. swapping to a TH400 will require a different 203 also.

adaptors can be made, by any good machinist. but he "spud Shaft" and/or spine cutting requires a special shop.

there is alittle more info/links on this page of mine http://www.geocities.com/yj3qtr_ton/2transfercase.html

I've seen a 2001 dually Ford with a diesel at the Calgary airport, it was 4x4 too. :smokin: I'd love to get one of those things, they are so cool. :D
