: 304 CI Fuel Injection
Cpoirier 09-03-2003, 06:12 PM Hi, I am new here... I see that this forum is very popular and has many helpful people, so I decided to try it out and see if you guys/girls could help me out a little bit.
I have a CJ-7 Buggy and it is carburated, I was wondering if anyone here knew if there is a fuel injection system that is compatible with the 304 engine, Maybe a newer style Ford engine, possibley a 302.
Has anyone heard about this being done or has anyone ever done this to their Jeep?
Thanks,
Chris Poirier
will-m 09-03-2003, 06:27 PM i'd give Howell (sp) a try. heard good things about them
Cpoirier 09-03-2003, 06:30 PM Thanks, But I am looking for a cheaper way then that, they seem to have good products, but i have a low budget to spent on this thing so I was wondering if there was a way to use a used fual injection system on it?
Do you think this is possible?
Thanks
Scramblah 09-03-2003, 06:31 PM If your 304 is in good order, I would also suggest the Howell kit. I have this kit on my 258, and it works pretty well. Its an easy install and very reliable when properly set up.
The tech people at Howell are really helpful if you have any questions. You will want to ask for Troy, however cause he is the jeep guy and knows his stuff.
Cpoirier 09-03-2003, 06:41 PM If I had the money to buy it I probobly would, but I do not have that much money, I am in Canada... The price will double and then I have to pay for shipping.
I was just wondering if there is a cheap solution to getting fuel injection other then spending $1,000 on a kit.
Any imput other then Howell?
Thanks

Thanks alot Rokcrler, I seen that earlier and never payed much attention to it, but it seem to have some good information... I'll E-mail them and see if they can help me some to, but if anyone knows how to adapt a Chevy 305 Fuel injection to the Jeep 304 it would be great if they could explain how to do it.
Thanks

Why not?
Sportsman 09-03-2003, 07:21 PM I would keep your eyes open, you can find a used system every now and then,
Im running a GM tbi with a Howell Comp.
I paid 500 for the whole system. It sure makes a differance in the way my 360 runs
Good Luck
Steve

Cpoirier 09-03-2003, 07:24 PM You found a used Howell system?
I don't think that would be possible for me to find one of them around here.
Maybe I can just find a newer Chevy 305 Fuel injection dome and convert it over?
You think its possible?
Cpoirier 09-03-2003, 07:26 PM I never searched, I just looked through some recent posts.
SORRY, and don't call me a newbie... I don't see why that makes any difference.
