The OBD2 isn't really worth much because it's near impossible to convert it for a Samurai 1.6-16V application without reading error codes (Of course, you can get around this be taking out your "check engine" light on the dashboard.). You might do better if you contact one of the vendors. Then again, someone with an OBD2 Tracker /'kick might need one for a spare. I'm not flamin' ya' - just stating facts. I've been involved with making harnesses and I've done several conversions out this way. I prefer the OBD2 motors and distributor for ease of maintenance and how clean the install looks. I just have the OBD1 harness converted so it works with the OBD2 distributor.

Converting the OBD2 harness isn't any technically harder than the OBD1. It's just there are a LOT of sensors in the OBD2 that cannot easily be eliminated. There are "Rollover" sensors that shut the engine off in the event of a rollover, "Gas tank pressure" sensors that tell if the gas cap's not on tight, 2 sensors for the exhaust, etc. You can probably run some sort of capacitor to these to "fool" the computer. But it's a LOT easier to just snip these sensors out and then remove the "Check engine" light. The only problem with that is you won't be able to run diagnostics from the ports on the harness. I don't know how much of a problem this will actually be since I've never run a diagnostic check through my harness ports. You might want to contact Brent at Trailtough and ask him the specifics of the OBD2 conversion. I also hear that Petroworks has done correct harness conversions for the OBD2 but I never talked with them about it. If you want a harness converted for cheaper than either of these places offer send me a PM and I can give you more details.
