im pretty sure its 35 but just wanted to check, im to lazy to pull them i guess. also what is the axle thickness and do you know if they taper, seems none of the cut and respline shops know much about these shafts. thanks for any help

semi's are 30
most anyway, ford never committed to anything
how big they are i dunno

They do neck down after the splines....Doesn't look like it's possible to cut and narrow them
that sucks. i will have to pull a shaft and measure, if it does i hope someone can make new shafts. its not a very popular axle and not many people know much about it so it may be a piain and not worth cutting down
I just went and looked at my spare shaft for sheets and grins, it does indeed neck down almost immediately after the splines. I didn't mic it but it's a pretty small difference, sucks that Ford didn't just leave it a constant diameter.
if thats the case i will prolly just keep it fullwidth and shitcan the idea of cutting it down on the one side to use with the spicer 18 the 64 cj5 has. itl be easier to just swap the t case out as it will surely get a new motor and tranny anyway and an adapter to a t case is inevitable so ill just get one for a diff t case.
