My plan is to use 2x4x.250 tube for the majority of the bumper and 1-1/2x.250 tube for the rest. I figure the main tube across the front will have 2 2x4 uprights notched and a 2x4 upper crossbar, then 1-1/2" headlight hoops on either side. Winch plate will be 1/2" plate with a couple gussets that will also serve as shackle mounts.

I know it'll be heavy as fawk but screw it. I want it beefy 'cuz it'll definitely get banged around. I'll build it in place welded to the end of the frame rails.

I like Brent Bradshaws design. Good approach angle, and it's tough.

Here's the one I'm running.

I love it. Tough as all hell. Dropped off 4 foot ledge at night on the 'con and landed square on the roller fairlead. Didn't even phase it.

Here's mine.
Yes, it's ghetto but tough.
The brush gaurd is just that. I will rework it someday, but have too many other things going right now.

The mounts are to the body mount with a 1/2 inch bolt and the stock mounts on the end of the frame.
