On my friends truck I welded a cut to fit 2x3 inch piece of rectangular tubing to the bottom of the housing that was about 12" long for each in the back. I the front I had to make the Pass. side a little shorter for the leaf springs to fit. On the drivers side I made it about 12" long. I also took a piece of 3" round tubing 1/8" wall and welded it over the axle housings to make it twice as thick as stock. We have has the Sammy pretty high in the air with no signs of anything even trying to bend yet.

I first welded the 2"x3"x1/4" channel on the bottom of both sides then the 1/8" gusset..ROCK PROOF! http://pics.montypics.com/Crab_Bait/2003-09-07/1062983758_A1_A1.jpg

And since I now broke 2-complete sets of Trail Tough front axles and 1 rear today. I am trashing the Zuki axles for Dana 44 front and a 14-bolt rear!<-- gonna cup up my 3/4 ton:mad: I wonder if 37's have anything to do with it?

Were those the "double-Tough" front axles? I'm thinking of upgrading to those when I go 33's.

Cap'n Ron. . .

Cap'n Ron. . . Yep! This time...left front dropped between to 3-foot boulders that wedged the tire SNAP then after winching out under power SNAP the right front:eek: Then at the up-hill cliff exit a HUGE SNAP that was the left rear:mad:

Can't really blame the axles. I am using 37" Baja Comp.Compound Claws 5.12's & 6.1 T-case:flipoff2:

I didn't get any pics of my rig this time out. But, you can get the idea of how bad the area is...he's running 42's and he sustanded multiple bady damage and leaf spring damage also...IT's A NASTY PLACE!

RoCk PiT SCORE; 1 Toyota --killed twice, 2 JEEPS -- killed twice each, 1 Zuki --killed, 1 Chevy --major damage but limped home @35 mph twice.
Would you care to try :D

think of all the added wind resistance of that axle truss, how will his zuk got 120mph if it's got that extra wind block on there?

you better re-think this idea there kid...
