Got a waggy 44 rear yesterday, now i'm looking for a front axle. After reading the pirate bible it seems like the wide track CJ dana 30 would be more than stong enough for 33-35" tires on a zuki. Same inner shaft diameter as d44, ring gear is 7.25 still strong enough more ground clearance,.. And it comes in 56" width, which is ideal for me....
Any thoughts on strength issues as far as the joints and outters?

I've heard most people having pretty good luck with d30's in there zuks, unless you want to do some serious rock crawling. If you find one cheap I say go for it, but while your looking keep you eyes open for a d44 also. There is nothing wrong with overkill.
