The shakles up front work the best of the two. When you are trying to climb a rock or something it will force the tire into the object. The shakle reversals unweights the tire. If you must put the shackle reversal on the leaf spring should be pretty close to parallel with the ground. Which will cause you to have fangs off the bumper like you would have in the standard position any ways with the shackles. I have done both, the shackle reversal was the first one on and would not climb up rocks worth a damn. We now went to front mount shackles and the truck will climb really well.

If you really want a flexy suspension, shackle reverse throws in some nasty aspects. Pinio0n angle is a big factor in shackle reverse. Flexy suspension=moving axle=cahnge in pinion angle.
In the SR case the pinion rotates down and away from the vehicle, thats great as long as you can afford a REALLY expensive drive shaft. go with standard configuration.

Oh and SJ410Rocker......welcome NEWB :flipoff2:
By the way, good, inexpensive suspensions start with leaf springs, they are cheap and easy to come by, hard to break too.
Brent at TT sells an amazing Yj kit, not that you could use it on your SJ 410 but you could give his Cj kit a try.

Well the SJ already has triangluated quarter ellipticals in the bac and I am going to put the rear springs in the front with missing links and maybe a panhard bar. You guys are all about pickin on the newbies. Maybe I'll see you an the trail sometime and you can have your ass handed to you by the "newbie". I would imagine you are running bolt on shit. Maybe you lack the balls, knowledge, or anything else to try and make something yourself. Asides from a bumper or two.

Dude.. cool the jets.
Newbie is not a bad thing to be called.
I have a shackle reversal on my Samurai. I agree with the newb, I would go with a normal front shackle set up.
The driveline was an issue for me, and brake dive seems pretty bad on mine. Other then that, it is great. The main plus being that it does a good job at higher speeds. It eats up speed bumps and the such very well, but only at speeds over 25 mph or so.
Another bummer with the reversal is the shackles might end up hanging you in the rocks. This has not happened to me yet, but I know it is only a matter of time as I have seen others do this.

Gawd, I love the Newbs. Like little bundles of fiery hormones, they are!
If you're not being insulted here, no one likes you. Got it?

I must have alot of love for the bunch of you guys on the board. Are you telling me that if I'm a nice guy to you I hate you? It's not that being called a Newbie bothers me, It's stuff like all the putting down and unwillingness to give a descent awnser to anything just for the sheer fact no one takes any newbie seriously. Maybe I'm just used to more layed back people. Besides I like the challenge of a good shit talkin' match. I also like to let people know that I wont get walked on by any high and mighty punk for fun. It's like when your a kid and you get picked on by the bully and one day you get right up in his face and let him know. He never bothers you again.
