A group of freinds and I are trying to plan a wheeling trip. We live in Canada (Toronto to be exact). We were looking at Moab but its an over 3000 km trip, probably kill whats left of my Claws by the time we drive that distance on the highway. Can anyone suggest any trails with camping sites that might be closer. We were thinking of going into the states but if anyone know of any Cnadian trails feel free to add your 2 cents.

Go to www.rrorc.com and then see if there is a website for your region.. even if it doesnt say anything about where to wheel, you could try emailing the region rep or someone in that region and im sure they could tell you.

Depends on the kind of trails you are looking for. There are some decent ones out here in Nova Scotia. Check out:
www.rightcoastcrawler.com
The site is down until about the 16th, due to 'service' going on in my area. But check after that and see if you like the trails, if so, let us know, and we can probably set something up for you.
How many friends?

Thanks for the info retard. ChadLloyd I talked to a few of the guys and they like the idea of staying in Canada, Helps out with the dollar. In any case there are around 5 -8 Jeeps that might be in for this trip. Many of the guys (including myself) are working on winter projects ranging from motor swaps to axle unders. We hope to have our rigs runnung by late spring. We wanna run scenic trails with not to much mud. Camping fishing maybe even mountain biking while we are there. I'll check the site you posted when its back up. Any decent rocky trails up there. We are not gonna limit anyone from coming with us so there are a couple of guys with 31 inch tires and coilspacer lifts.

Myself and BillaVista are members of the Right Coast Crawlers and sometime members of the Nova Scotia Jeep Club. The former is into harder trails, the latter into trails more suited to lightly modified vehicles. Either way, we got ya covered, just get in contact with us closer to the time you are actually coming and I'm sure we can set you up. The Nova Scotia Jeep Club also has contacts with clubs in NB, maybe even Que, so if you don't and are looking for wheeling on the way we might be able to hook you up that way also. My email is clloyd@tsi.bc.ca, let me know and I will put you in contact with the right people if I can't help you myself.
We did a similar thing for a group out of Ontaria summer before last, can't remember their names, but they came all the way out with 2 jeeps and a rover, and went all the way around the trail in Cape Breton (on road) before doing some trails in NS. They certainly seemed to be having a lot of fun.

Chad

I gotta say it. Moab is what you really want anyway. Camping fishing, rock climbing, Mountaing biking heaven, and the best wheelin anywhere. Look at trailering you vehicles and swapping out tow vehicles. You will NEVER find a place as great as MOAB. And no I am no BIAS from living in utah.

Lost Soul, while Moab may be a great wheeling spot, and I do hope to get out there ASAP, remember, he's from canada, and it may not be a feasible trip. With all that said.. I second what TJ chick said.. take it to chit chat.. it aint tech, and this aint the Q-tec board.

Thanx for the info guys. I'll put up a post closer to the time we decide to organize our trip. I'll throw it in the chit chat forum so as not to offend anyone. :flipoff2:
