Hey guys, I have got a 72 bronco that I want to put on some spring rockers, I was curious if anyone else has used or seen these on the trails. You can see them at http://www.bcbroncos.com/ under rear suspenion home page.

I am also looking to upgrade my shocks and was curious on what are the best shocks out there and what would be the best for me. I will have a 5 1/2" lift with james duff rear shock tower, that is where both shocks mount to the forward part of the frame.

Thanks for any and all of your help.

From what I've heard...

Spring rockers do their job awesome. A little scary on the street/side hilling.

Best shocks out there? Tough call. I'd go with the Bilstein 7100's. Can't do much better than that for an awesome ride. Plus you'll only need one as the shock is valved to your vehicle.

Thanks for your help I will look into Bilstein 7100's shocks.

I was previously looking at James Duff long travel shocks, which have 15" travel; 20" compressed and 35" extended, all for $40 a shock.

Thanks..

I have a friend runnng those rockers in the rear of his ranger. Kind of scarry watching his axle move side to side as he drives it. I havent really noticed that he got any more flex out of his springs with these compared to the block i use in my ranger. Another thing is he did end up breaking a shackle hanger a few weeks ago on the rear suspension. Not sure if was related to these or not though. it is a 97 ranger from cali so rust had nothing to do with it. he did roll it hard a few months earlier so that could of maybe fatigued something. I wont be getting them after seeing them in his ranger.

Is there a way to lock out the spring perches, so that when you are driving on the road you won't have the problems with axle movement but have the flex on the trail?

Chuck (BC Bronco Owner) was working on some lock outs some time ago but decided that they were a bad idea because they added a lot of stress to the pin. I'd definately make sure that I had good poly bushings in to help keep things reasonable.

Duff, Wild Horses, Pro-Comp, Rancho, etc. are all a common shock you'll see. If you want a really good shock, with a ride that cannot be matched by the aforementioned, buy some Bilsteins. Even if it's the 5100's.

Check out shox.com.

Okay it looks like Bilstein Shocks are the way to go, Are the 5100 series worth the extra $40 per shock.

Also, I have dual shock in the front and back, what are my benfits and downfalls with this type of system.

Thanks....

I use these and love them. I'm not sure which length I have but if you want the number I will get it. I have redone my shock mounts for a longer shock.

Wouldn't a dual hender the flex somewhat?
Two shocks would stiffen it ups some in my opinion.

I run the rockers on 3.5 nationals. It runs fine but i run the cross shock kit. I also rund my bushings tight. However I will be putting on sway bars for the hiway 50 run. A locker in the rear can make things scary at 60 mph
The reason for the rockers is to take the stress of the twisting of the leaf spring and center pin.

I'm running a 3.5" bc lift with bilsteins 5100's all around. I say anything more is overkill unless you want to adjust the valving. Then go with 7100's. Hands down a killer ride now though. Coming from Duff shocks and I can't believe I waited this long. With this lift you'll need 10's in the rear and 12's in front with F250 mounts. 12's rear and 14's front with 5.5" lift etc...
